Falling In Love With The Canary Islands
With Valentine’s Day coming and going so fast, you may be left feeling loved up and looking for an adventure.

With Valentine’s Day coming and going so fast, you may be left feeling loved up and looking for an adventure. When thinking of romantic places, Paris, Venice and Vienna might be your first thoughts, but have you ever considered the Canary Islands?

Beautiful beaches, friendly locals and plenty of time for adventure are just a few of the things that you can look forward to on your picture-perfect holiday. Add this to the fact that there are seven Canary Islands that are just a short ferry journey away from each other and this archipelago is already looking like a top pick.

Maspalomas, Gran Canaria

As one of the more popular towns on Gran Canaria, Maspalomas is well-known for its iconic coastal sand dunes that form a somewhat mini-desert. These dunes are perfect for families and couples alike, playing host to a number of activities as well as wildlife that can be found in an additional 404 hectares of land being protected as a nature reserve.

As well as the dunes, an active lighthouse situated near the coast is a sight to behold. At a colossal 56m tall, it’s famed for being the tallest in the Canaries and makes up one of six lighthouses that can be found around Gran Canaria. If you stay long enough into the evening, there is a chance you will catch a glimpse of Holiday World Maspalomas, a theme park full of rides, carnival games and authentic Canarian food.

Stargazing, Llano del Jable, La Palma

Opening up the night sky, the Canary Islands are known for having low light pollution, keeping the skies clear for avid stargazers. There is no shortage of tall peaks in the Canary Islands and Llano del Jable puts you right near the top, at a staggering 1,200 metres above sea level.

Here, you can see many of the famous constellations including Andromeda, Cassiopeia, and Pegasus on top of any bright orange sunsets that may take place a few hours before. Don’t worry about packing binoculars or a telescope, the sky is famous for allowing extraordinary views with the naked eye.

Hotel Jardín Tecina and Hermigua, La Gomera

Finally, La Gomera is a splendid place to carry on your Valentine’s romance, especially at its lesser-known spots. The valley village of Hermigua can bring forth the island’s rich heritage through its abundance of Banana fields and opportune moments to stroll along diverse walking terrain on a tranquil hike. Plus, being situated only an hour’s car journey from Hotel Jardín Tecina, the town is a must-see for a day-trip.

The Hotel Jardín Tecina can also be an excellent way to treat your partner during this love-filled season. Whether you want to walk hand-in-hand along one of the island’s volcanic black beaches or take some time-out with your significant other in the charming cave for two.

Planning a special event? We can accommodate for these too, including everything from honeymoons to weddings for groups of all sizes. Otherwise, you can relish an abundance of pools or try your hand at a variety of sports thanks to our multi-purpose facilities. Discover our recently renovated Spa Ahemon for the chance to recharge your batteries and indulge in some fantastic spa treatments.

If you are looking to fall in love with a lesser-known romantic destination, Hotel Jardín Tecina could be perfect for you.
